There are plenty of games that have dogs. Each time an animal appears, the question of whether you can pet it emerges. In Final Fantasy 16, Clive Rosfield is accompanied on his journey of revenge by his trusty companion, Torgal.
There are other companions that you will be able to interact with throughout the game like Cid, Wade, and Tyler. Of course, you won’t be able to command these allies since they are AI controlled.

Can you pet Torgal in Final Fantasy 16?
Fans will be happy to know that you can pet Torgal in Final Fantasy XVI. You can pet your dog companion throughout the game. Not only that, but you can also give Torgal treats.
Torgal has been with Clive since he was a pup. Your wolf companion is an outcast from the northern territories who was taken in by house Rosfield when he was a puppy. Since then, he has been Clive’s best friend and acts as a sword to Clive’s shield.
Square Enix has shown off multiple clips on the new Final Fantasy XVI Twitter page that shows you can pet Torgal as well as give him treats throughout the game. You can also command him to search for items. Torgal has fierce loyalty that follows him into battle as he fights alongside you throughout parts of the campaign.
If you want to get a feel for the companion system in Final Fantasy 16 before playing the full game, you can download the demo on PlayStation. The demo shows you what Torgal was like while he was a puppy. It also gives you the chance to fight alongside him.
Torgal has many moves and will even appear during cutscenes to help defend Clive from various threats. There is no denying that Torgal is an essential part of the game.
When can you interact with Torgal in Final Fantasy 16?
You cannot interact with Torgal until you have completed the Cid’s Hideaway portion of the campaign. After leaving the Hideaway and going to the Greatwood, you will be able to interact with Togal immediately.
As soon as you have arrived in the Greatwood, turn around and hold the X button to interact with Torgal. Different animations will happen each time you interact with him.
How to pet Torgal in Final Fantasy 16
You can interact with Torgal by simply holding the X button when facing him. This will allow you to pet, play, and feed Torgal. After entering the Greatwood, you will also be able to command him using the pet command menu.
