There is much to learn in the Square Enix combat system of Final Fantasy 16, especially in dodging! We all know getting knocked down is a way of life; however, learning how to perform the perfect Dodge and get a takedown would possibly be the highlight of anyone’s day. Of course, no one likes to get hit and take damage from a weaker foe or boss.

So, to help you out, we have provided you with a guide on all tools you need to perform the perfect Dodge in Final Fantasy 16.

How do you perform a perfect dodge in Final Fantasy 16

Learning how to Dodge or evade is one of the fight skills you will learn in any game. It will prevent you from taking additional damage, and if done perfectly, you can use it as one of your combos! To do a standard dodge in Final Fantasy 16, you must press the R1 button on your PlayStation controller. This will assist you with a quick recovery if an enemy has knocked you back.

You can also do a Precision Dodge, evading incoming attacks and temporarily slowing down your foes. This will enable you to dash in and follow up with a counterattack by pressing the Square or Triangle.

The best way to perform that perfect Dodge is to click on R1 before getting hit! Then, follow up with one of your Eikonic Abilities, weapons, or magic to land a devastating hit on your enemy!

If you need help in your boss fights or Eikon battles, switch to Story-focused mode to use the Ring of Timely Evasion. This is an accessory that, when equipped, Clive will automatically evade attacks with lighting-quick reflexes. However, not all attacks can be automatically evaded, and this accessory can only assist with attacks that can be evaded.
