The latest Square Enix Final Fantasy game, Final Fantasy 16, may have you lost in the gameplay and need some Animal Instinct. While the game will not be open-world, there will undoubtedly be times when you may have lost your way. Though it’s understandable as there is plenty to learn from the combat system to the legacy of the crystals, sometimes a helpful snout is needed to lead the pack! This will undoubtedly happen when fighting against various Dominants and their Eikons. So, to help you along the way, here’s how to use Animal Instinct in Final Fantasy 16.

How do you use Animal Instinct in Final Fantasy 16?

You may get lost on your quest in the latest Final Fantasy installment, Final Fantasy 16. Fortunately, a helpful pup is ready and waiting to help you find your way. Using Animal Instinct will point you in the right direction. When you use this function, your quest destination will be displayed with a Red Seal.

You must hold down L3 on your controller to use Animal Instinct. Once you do, you will receive a preview of where to go. In addition, when playing the Eikonic Challenge Mode, Torgal can assist you by leading you in the direction you need to go. You will need his help, as the castle is a maze-like structure!

Once Torgal can be added to your party members, although you cannot control him, this version of Animal Instinct will become available. If Torgal is not with you, your destination will be displayed by a Red Seal.

You will first learn this skill when you play as a young Clive Rosfield, the firstborn son of the Archduke of Rosaria. Each time you feel you may have lost your way in the land of Valisthea, use this tool to your advantage to set you back on track!
