There are plenty of resources for you to track down in Final Fantasy 16 if you want to craft and upgrade items. You can find everything from Sharp Fangs and Bloody Hides to Meteorites and Dragon Talons.
Each of the materials you find has a purpose whether that be crafting items or simply selling it to get some extra Gil. Make sure you complete plenty of quests during your journey to get more rewards.
One of the many, more difficult materials to consistently find is Minotaur Manes. You will need to track down some tough beasts in the world and defeat them if you want to collect their manes. Just like with Clouded Eyes, you will want to hang onto Minotaur Manes. This guide will show you how to get Minotaur Manes in Final Fantasy 16.
Final Fantasy 16 – How to get Minotaur Manes
You will get your first Minotaur Mane pretty early on in the game. Shortly after visiting the Hideaway for the first time, you will go to a forest with Cid in the Sanbreque and head to Lostwing. You will find two Minotaur in this area. Each Minotaur you defeat has a chance of dropping a Minotaur Mane.
Later in the game, you will go to the Rosaria Region. Specifically, you will head to a place called Martha’s Rest. Once you have the bridge fixed, head north and go east to Rhiannon’s Ride. There are two Minotaur wandering this area that you can kill to get additional Minotaur Manes.
There is also a Minotaur to the west of Rhiannon’s Ride which is a Notorious Mark that you will get access to later in the game. This tougher enemy is found south of Eastpool and West of Rhiannon’s Ride.
How to use Minotaur Manes in Final Fantasy 16
Early in the game, Minotaur Manes are used to craft only one item; the Gaia Blade. You can craft this black at the blacksmith named Blackthorne in the Hideaway. This is one of the more powerful early-game blades.
You can also use Minotaur Manes to upgrade the Gaia Blade at the blacksmith. This is the only purpose for Minotaur Manes in the game. Once you are done with this blade, the manes will no longer be needed.
