Final Fantasy 16 has been making waves since it was announced, and many fans are questioning whether Noctis from FFXV will be in the game. Though it will make for some fantastic lore, it may take away some of the narratives of the newest Final Fantasy installment, Final Fantasy 16. So, follow this guide to learn if Noctis is in Final Fantasy 16.
Will Noctis be in Final Fantasy 16?
The protagonist of Final Fantasy 15, Noctis Lucis Caelum, will not be in Final Fantasy 16. While there are many striking similarities between the main character, Clive Rosfield, and Noctis, such as appearance, the two have no relation.
It was also stated in a PlayStation Blog that “Final Fantasy XVI introduces gamers to an all-new story in the Final Fantasy universe.” Though, it is pretty understandable to question whether Noctis will be in Final Fantasy 16, as both men have the same build and color of hair. Including the recurrence of the Crystals and “Cid,” however, many Final Fantasy games have reoccurring themes. So, it won’t be surprising that many franchise fans suspect there may be some relation.
Unfortunately for fans of Final Fantasy XV, based on the trailers and gameplay of Final Fantasy 16, Noctis is nowhere in sight. Instead, the new JRPG Final Fantasy protagonist, Clive, will seek revenge through his teens and adulthood. Party members Jill Warrick, Torgal, and Cidolfus Telamon will tag along on this quest.
In the new Square Enix Final Fantasy installment, Clive must fight against deadly creatures known as Eikons in Eikon battles. These creatures are summons from the human Dominants that wield their power in the six realms. Along the way, Clive will seek to uncover the truth behind the death of his younger brother Joshua Rosfield and get revenge on the Eikon known as Ifrit.
This is an entirely new story compared to Noctis, who is fighting to regain control of his homeland that the empire of Niflheim has invaded.
