In every Final Fantasy installment, franchise fans can find some version of a summoned creature in the games; in Final Fantasy 16, it is the Eikons. Final Fantasy XVI is a dark fantasy with plenty of tragedy and heartache throughout the game. Clive, the Firstborn son of the Archduke of Rosaria, must face these deadly creatures to succeed in his quest for revenge.

So, follow this guide to discover what Eikons are in Final Fantasy 16.

What are the Eikons in Final Fantasy 16?

Many gamers expect to see something like a summons in the hotly anticipated Square Enix installment Final Fantasy 16. In the FFXVI, summons now take the form of Eikons.

These Eikons take the forms of various sizes and strengths; each in Final Fantasy 16 will have its elemental power. Eikons are the most powerful, mythical, and deadly creatures in the realms of Valisthea. In the story of Final Fantasy 16, a select few called Dominants can call forth and summon the Eikons.

These individuals have their reasons for using their Eikonic powers. Some are treated as royalty, such as the protagonist Clive Rosfield and Joshua Rosfield, who reside in the Grand Duchy of Rosaria. Joshua was born the Phoenix’s Dominant, and Clive awakens as the second Eikon of Fire Ifrit.

While others serve as weapons of war, such as Jill Warrick, the Ice Dominant Shiva, and Hugo Kupka, the EarthTitan Dominant, of course, there are plenty of other Eikons.

  • Cidolfus Telamon “Cid” as Dominant of Ramuh (Thunder)
  • Benedikta Harman as Dominant of Garuda (Wind)
  • Dion Lesage as Dominant of Bahamut (Light)
  • Barnabas Tharmr as Dominant of Odin (Darkness)

Though some of these Eikons, such as Shiva, use their powers for good and the strength of the people, others, such as the Warden of Darkness Odin, use their powers best on the battlefield.
