Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 – How to mark a vehicle

Marking vehicles, often called pinging, can be done by tagging them by tapping whatever button you have set to mark items. The default button for this is the mouse wheel button for PC and left on the D-Pad for consoles, but you can change this button by following these steps:

• Go into Settings
• Click on Controls
• Scroll to Communications
• Set the button for Place Marker

This way, you can set the button you prefer to use for placing markers on whatever platform you’re on, whether that’s PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 or Nintendo Switch. 

Once done, you must locate the item you want to tag, including vehicles, and tap the button. This will place a marker on the vehicle that you can follow no matter where it is on the map. Any map markers placed will carry on through the match, however, they do not carry over from game to game, so you will have to place the pings again to keep track of them. This is how you can mark vehicles in different matches, by following the same steps as before.
