Just like the other Resident Evil Games, the Resident Evil 4 Remake is filled with puzzles for you to solve. While some of these puzzles are difficult, others just require you to collect a specific item. If you want to get the Level 3 Keycard for the facility, you need to get the wrench. The wrench is needed to open the machine that upgrades your keycard. Without it, you will be left wandering the facility with savage Regenerators on the loose. Here is how you can get the wrench in Resident Evil 4 Remake.
Where to find the wrench in Resident Evil 4 Remake
During chapter 13 of Resident Evil 4 Remake, you will be inside the facility on the island. This dark place is filled with inhumane experiments that aren’t to be messed with. After finding Ashley in the holding cell, you need to track down a Level 3 Keycard. This is only possible by upgrading the card from level 1. As you upgrade the card, you will make your way to the utilities room of the facility. This room has four large containment tubes in it – each one with a Regenerator.
In the small room on the side, you will find an item called the Biosensor Scope. This is a thermal scope that allows you to see heat signatures. At this point, you should have a rifle or SMG in your inventory. If not, head back to the typewriter and gather up one of the many weapons you will have collected by this point in the game. Come back to the utilities room with the sensor connected to one of your weapons.

Aim your Biosensor Scope-equipped weapon at the Regenerator in the tub in the back right of the room. You will see a wrench-shaped mass inside the creature. To get the wrench, you will need to kill this Regenerator. Carefully aim at the various weak spots on the Regenerator to kill it. Once it is dead, the wrench will be sitting on the floor. You can now use the wrench to open the keycard upgrade machine to obtain the Level 3 Keycard and rescue Ashley.
