FFXIV requires you to level up in order to enjoy certain things, such as a new story quest. Therefore, learning about how to level up fast in Final Fantasy XIV is extremely important, as the process can be challenging if you don’t know what to do.

How can I level up quickly in Final Fantasy XIV?

There are plenty of methods that can help with leveling up quickly in the game. However, you should prioritize the ones that give the most amount of experience points. Some methods will grant you direct XP, while others will provide you with exp bonuses. Keep in mind that the current level cap of the game is 90.

Here are the methods in order, and we’ll list them out after:

  • Complete main story quests
  • Take advantage of food
  • Utilize the Hunting Log
  • Complete Class and Job Quests
  • Complete FATEs
  • Complete the challenges listed in the Challenge Log
  • Stay in the Sanctuary
  • Complete the Duty Roulette
  • Utilise item buffs
  • Join Free Companies

Complete main story quests

Completing the main scenario quests is one of the best methods of gaining tons of XP. Some of these are extremely easy to complete, while others might take a while. In any case, you should talk to as many characters as possible and accept whatever quest they give you. Progressing through the main storyline will also help you get familiar with the game’s mechanics in the early stages.

Take advantage of food

Food is excellent for those who want an exp bonus. If you eat any type of food, no matter how cheap it is, you will receive a 3% experience kill bonus. This will last for 30 minutes, which is enough. It is important to remember that this XP buff can also be acquired by drinking water.

It is important to remember that you shouldn’t waste a lot of money on expensive food. Even buying something as simple as Orange Juice will be enough, and you can get it for 1 Gil. It will be wise to keep plenty of food stored in your inventory, so you can quickly eat it whenever you’re about to kill some enemies.

Utilize the Hunting Log

If you’re someone who loves killing monsters, then you must utilize the Hunting Log. This log lists enemies that you need to find and kill. In return, you will receive tons of XP. This is perfect for those who love participating in boss fights. Furthermore, it will also help you explore new areas of the game.

The best part is that the amount of XP you get from defeating the enemies increases as you move up in the Hunting Log. In other words, it is one of the most efficient ways to increase your FFXIV level.

Complete Class and Job Quests

If you’re someone who does not pay any attention to Class or Job Quests, you’re missing out on a lot. Every class in the game, such as the Black Mage or Gunbreaker, has its own set of quests, which become available as you progress through the levels. While Class Quests are available from the start, Job Quests are unlocked after reaching level 30.

Both quests are not difficult to complete and grant a good amount of XP. Furthermore, they also help with learning new moves, so you’ll enjoy doing them.

Complete FATEs

Another excellent way to level up fast in Final Fantasy XIV is by completing FATEs. These are random events that occur on the map, and each one is different from the other. For instance, one might require you to retrieve an item, while another one will want you to defeat a powerful boss.

These can either be completed alone or with friends. However, we recommend you don’t do them alone, as the amount of XP and rewards you get from them depend on how well you performed. Having a team playing different roles, such as healers, tanks, and DPS, will also make things much easier. This is something that also helps a lot during Raids.

Complete the challenges listed in the Challenge Log

While the Hunting Log assigns you tasks that include hunting monsters, the Challenge Log gives out tasks such as completing dungeons or going on a mission. However, you won’t be able to access it in the beginning, as it becomes available after you cross level 15. Also, keep in mind that the highest-level dungeon will provide the most rewards.

Stay in the Sanctuary

A lot of you might not know this, but there is a hidden benefit of placing your character in a Sanctuary before exiting the game. If you do, your character will receive an exp boost, which grants an extra 50% battle experience.

Complete the Duty Roulette

The Duty Roulette is another excellent way to level up fast in Final Fantasy XIV. You can think of them as daily quests. However, it can list a random quest, even if it is something that was previously completed by you. Completing these quests reward you with plenty of items, including XP and Grand Company Seals.

Utilise item buffs

If you pre-ordered any of the previous expansions, like Endwalker, Shadowbringers, A Realm Reborn, or Stormblood, you might have received a couple of item buffs. These can also be used to speed up the process.

For instance, those who preordered A Realm Reborn received a 20% exp boost for up to level 10. Similarly, Menphina’s Earring from Endwalker granted 30% experience points. Therefore, do keep an eye out for the next expansion to not miss out on such items.
