Starting a new game can be slightly intimidating before you click that download button, especially in Final Fantasy. There is much to learn from all the realms in Eorzea, raids, dungeons, and new jobs. So, it’s understandable that players may want to try a free trial before the main game. So follow this guide on how to download Final Fantasy XIV.

Final Fantasy XIV – How to download

There are various platforms you can use to download Final Fantasy XIV. You can download it on Windows PCMac OS, PlayStation 4, and 5. Here is how you can download the Free Trial on the PlayStation.

  1. First, you need to install the Final Fantasy XIV game
  2. To do this, go to Software Selection
  3. Search for Final Fantasy XIV on the PlayStation Store.
  4. Now, select Final Fantasy Free Trial and click Download.
  5. Once you have downloaded the game, the installation will begin automatically.
  6. After it has been installed, follow the on-screen instructions
  7. Now, read through the Software License Agreement and click Agree
  8. After this, select the Square Enix Account Holder and enter your account information.
  9. Once done, click Next
  10. You will now be taken to the launch screen, so click Play

However, note that if you choose only to play the Free Trial, there will be a few limitations and restrictions. For example, you can only save up to 300,000 Gil; you will not have access to the following functions, the Market Board, Trading, Free Company, and Companion App. In addition, you will have limited access to the Mog Station: Moogle Delivery Service.

After you have played the base game, A Realm Reborn of Final Fantasy XIV, you can purchase the full game and the remaining expansions. They are Heavensward, Stormblood, Shadowbringers, and Endwalker. Thankfully, you won’t need to worry about starting over once you have purchased the full version; your progress will carry over!
