Choosing the best class for you in Final Fantasy XIV can be challenging. With each update, more Jobs are added, leaving you wondering which is best to choose. Of course, it all depends on your playstyle and what you want out of your gaming experience. So, here is a guide that will tell you the best class in Final Fantasy XIV.

What is the best class to play in Final Fantasy XIV?

There are a plethora of classes and jobs you can choose from. However, some are better than others. The best class we can suggest is the Dancer, a Physical Ranged DPS in Final Fantasy XIV. There are a few reasons why we have chosen this class/job.

The Dancer will have high mobility, providing damage, utility, and support to your party members. In addition, Dancers can pick a Dancing Partner from their party, thus enabling that party member to use the Dancer’s abilities.

During the dance, you will use various rotations called Steps to cause physical damage. These will create powerful AoE attacks, boosting your party’s damage and strength. Of course, you will also have healing abilities that will increase your HP and your allies.

The Dancer is a great job; with its high mobility across the field, aiding and assisting your teammates will have you in the perfect position to protect yourself and others around you.

All the classes in FF XIV

You can choose from a few classes when you begin your journey in FFXIV. However, there are a few things you need to know before you select or change your class. First, there will be nine starting classes. Once you reach Lv 30 in that respective class, you can upgrade your base class to a Job. This is an extension of the class.

There are three combat roles that these classes and jobs will perform. They are Healer, Tank, and DPS. The DPS roles will have three additions: Melee DPS, Physical Ranged DPS, and Magical Ranged DPS

Tank

  • Gladiator (Paladin)
  • Marauder (Warrior)
  • Dark Knight
  • Gunbreaker

Healer

  • Conjurer (White Mage- Pure Healer)
  • Astrologian (Pure Healer)
  • Arcanist (Scholar – Barrier Healer)
  • Sage (Barrier Healer)

Melee DPS

  • Pugilist (Monk)
  • Lancer (Dragoon)
  • Rogue (Ninja)
  • Samurai
  • Reaper

Physical Ranged DPS

  • Archer (Bard)
  • Machinist
  • Dancer

Magical Ranged DPS

  • Thaumaturge (Black Mage)
  • Arcanist (Summoner)
  • Red Mage
  • Blue Mage

Final Fantasy XIV has had four expansions thus far; players received more Jobs in these expansions, but these Jobs do not have base classes. In the Heavensward expansion, players received Dark Knight, Machinist, and Astrologian. in Stormblood, Samurai, and Red Mage. For Shadowbringers, it was Gunbreaker and Dancer. Lastly, in Endwalker, it was Reaper and Sage.
