Safehouses are great in Redfall. Not only do they keep you safe from the vampires that surround you, but they also allow you to fast travel. Using safehouses is a great way to avoid needing to bypass the red mist until you can disperse it.

Safehouses are marked by a little house symbol on the map once you find them. This way, you can always remember where they are located for future reference. To unlock a safehouse, you need to turn the power on. This isn’t always easy and will sometimes require keys, character abilities, and weapons being used.

Once the power is turned on, the safehouse will become unlocked and you will gain access to additional shops and NPCs.

To restore the power to a safehouse in Redfall, you will need to track down the power switch. This is often hidden somewhere nearby the entrance to the safehouse. For instance, when unlocking the fire department, you can find the switch in the basement near a vampire you need to stake.

There are often wires that you can follow to the general location of the power switch. Once found, interact with the switch to get the power turned on for the area. With the power turned on, the safehouse will become available.
