With so many console choices out there now, which ones will you be able to play The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on? Will you be able to play it through Steam or Epic Games? The new extension to the Zelda franchise is on the horizon and we bet you’re looking to see exactly how you can get your hands on it!

Will Epic Games and Steam have access to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?

In short, no, neither Epic Games or Steam are currently confirmed to be gaining access to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom as Nintendo has announced that it will be a Nintendo Switch exclusive game. This is nothing surprising for a Nintendo title since the company’s games are rarely available on anything except its own consoles and systems.

As such, The Legends of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will not be a supported title on Steam Deck or any other console other than The Switch, The Switch OLED, and The Switch Lite at the moment.

Will The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom ever be available on other consoles?

The official answer is no, it will not, but as we saw with other releases such as Breath of the Wild which eventually made its way to PC via emulation and it may be only a matter of time before Tears of the Kingdom follows this. This game is however completely optimized and designed to be played on Switch so although you may in the future be able to play some version of it on other consoles, that doesn’t mean you should, you would be losing out on all the small details and switch specific gaming style that has been poured into this vast game.

In short, it’s no surprise that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will only be playable on Switch and not through Epic Games or Steam when it is released.
