Farming sweet berries in Minecraft is trickier than you think. There are lots of food sources that have different qualities associated with them. Ever since sweet berries were added to Minecraft in the 1.14 update, they are one of the most sought-after food items. Sweet berries in Minecraft continue to grow after they have been harvested and it is one of the best resources to farm if you want an infinite food source.
How to Make Your Sweet Berry Farm in Minecraft
You can automatically farm sweet berries in Minecraft but it can be a little difficult to do so. Here is a full list of everything you will need to make your farm:
- Berries
- Dirt
- Fences
- Rails
- Powered Rails
- One Chest or Barrel
- Redstone Blocks or Torches
- Foxes
- Minecart with hopper
The goal of this sweet berry farm is to have foxes do all the heavy lifting for you. You can capture foxes and use leads to make them go where you need them to. To make your farm you need to place a row of dirt and plant berries on them.
Once done, you need to make a hole that is big enough to accommodate a minecart. Doing so will allow you to use the minecart and grab all the berries that fall into the hole. We recommend making a hole that is about three blocks wide.
You should also build a railroad across the full length of your farm along with a hopper and an attached chest. The powered rails should be placed strategically to ensure the cart continues to roll automatically.
Finally, you need to build an enclosure for the foxes with a clear view of the sky. Doing so ensures that the foxes will not go to sleep and you will get a continuous supply of berries. The process sounds very tedious but once you set it up, you never have to worry about running out of sweet berries ever again.
