MLB The Show 23 has a variety of game modes that players can experience. One of the most popular is Road to the Show or RTTS. In this mode, players begin as lowly minor-league prospects and try to work their way up to the big leagues. They’ll begin on whatever organization’s AA team and try to play well enough to get promoted to AAA and then the major leagues.

Players may choose their team for a variety of reasons, but they don’t always control where they end up. This is especially true if your team has an established player in your position. Regardless, you may eventually end up where you don’t want to be and will need to ask for a trade. Here’s how to do just that.

How do you request a trade on MLB the Show 23?

In MLB the Show 23, requesting a trade is not exactly straightforward. There is no option for it and there’s no way to call for a meeting with the coaches if your ballplayer is disgruntled. Because of this, requesting a trade requires patience.

Players need to wait for an agent to make a phone call to check-in. They do this at frequent intervals throughout each season, but it may be several days before the next one. When the agent does call, they’ll ask how you’re doing. This can happen while you’re in the minor leagues or a part of an MLB team’s current roster.

You will have the option to say you’d prefer to move on and maybe even find a dream team. The agent will then put pressure on the front office to trade you away. This is as much as you can do, though. From there, it’s totally out of your hands and it is not an easy task to accomplish. It reflects real life in that gamers can’t automatically join a new team when they want to.

Be advised that asking for a trade cannot be undone. Once it happens, the team will consider you unhappy, so unless you make it to the next status check from the agent on the same team, you’ll likely be moved to one of the different teams.

Furthermore, you have no control over the team you go to. You could want to take your talents from the New York Yankees to the Los Angeles Dodgers, but end up on the Kansas City Royals instead. This is a good mirror of how real-life trades often work. MLB The Show 23 RTTS tries to emulate that and does a good job of moving players off of a team’s roster.

Trading cannot be done on Diamond Dynasty. You can’t request a trade in franchise mode, either, since you aren’t controlling one player there.
