NBA 2K24 is the latest offering from 2K Sports’ hit basketball simulation franchise. The game is slated to come out in the fall in conjunction with the NBA regular season. Historically, it has been available on a wide variety of platforms. It hasn’t been exclusive and it’s usually released for most gaming locations.

However, gaming is undergoing changes. Consoles are slowly becoming obsolete and the console wars continue to rage on. Will 2K24 be available for those with an Xbox Series X|S?

Can I play NBA 2K24 on Xbox Series X|S?

Yes, you can play NBA 2K24 on an Xbox Series X|S when it comes out. In fact, pre-orders for that platform are available now at GameStop, the Xbox Store and other locations. For now, 2K isn’t an exclusive brand, so there’s no console that can’t have their games.

All gaming platforms (Nintendo Switch, all Xboxes, both PlayStations and Steam) have the game available. Furthermore, the Series X|S models are the current-gen. While Xbox One is in danger of eventually losing out on new games, that date is well in the future for the Series X|S and the One still has access to 2K24.

With that said, it will have things the Xbox One does not. A big change to the game this year is that cross-play is finally being added. That will be a next-gen feature, though. 2K23 was one of the first major games to have substantial differences between the old and new consoles, so that will continue this time around.

Better graphics, smarter AI, refined animations and more will be available for the Xbox Series X|S version of the game. All modes will remain the same, but the gameplay will be better on next-gen.
