NBA 2K24 How to dunk

Dunking in NBA 2K24 is great. Just like pulling it off in an actual basketball game, it’s exciting and impressive. Throwing it down on someone or doing a trick while wide open is something that easily spices up the gameplay. With NBA 2K24, there are a lot of different types of dunks. Here’s how to pull them off.

How do I dunk instead of layup in NBA 2K24?
There are two ways to dunk, but they both involve one key input: sprinting. Your player needs to be sprinting to the basket, which is the right trigger (RT) on your controller regardless of if it’s Nintendo, PlayStation, or Xbox.
After that, you have to shoot once you get in close range with the hoop. You can start from pretty much anywhere, even on the baseline. This can be done with the shoot button, which is the X button on Xbox, the 5 key on PC, and square on PlayStation. That will do a standard driving dunk. However, if you use the right stick on your controller, there are more options.
Move the right stick in these directions to change up your dunks:
• UP = Two-Handed Dunk
• RIGHT = Strong Hand
• LEFT = Off-Hand Dunk
• DOWN = Rim Hang
• UP-UP = Flashy Dunk Two-Hand
• DOWN-UP = Flashy One-Hand
• UP-DOWN = Normal Skill Dunk with meter
• DOWN-DOWN = Rim Hang Skill Dunk with meter
There are a few things to remember when it comes to dunking. Only certain players who are tall enough can do a standing dunk. The dunk attribute for a player matters, too. For example, Ja Morant’s attribute will be higher than Stephen Curry’s in that area. Some of the best dunkers include LeBron James, Zion Williamson, Vince Carter, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and others. Vertical leap is vital, too. Badges that you have, such as Precision Dunker, impact your dunking as well.
Contact dunks require a defender to be in your path, but they’re easier said than done. In those situations, it’s easiest to do a standard dunk, but you can do elite bigman contact dunks, pro contact dunks, small contact dunks, and elite contact dunks.
The dunk meter is a relatively new feature for the NBA 2K franchise. It’s the shot meter, but for dunks. It doesn’t play much of a role on lower difficulties. Trick dunks you can pull off include a through the legs dunk, double clutch dunk, windmill dunk, reverse dunk, and more. These can be done in the NBA 2K24 dunk contest.
