NBA 2K24 is back with MyCAREER, MyPLAYER, MyTEAM, MyNBA, and so much more. As usual, the MyCAREER mode is very popular as it allows players to live out their NBA dreams for their favorite team.

If at some point, you want your player to join another team, there are two options. One, you can sign there in free agency, or two, you can get traded. Being traded isn’t always up to the player, but you can request to be moved. Here’s how to do just that.

Can I request a trade in NBA 2K24?

Yes, your player can request a trade in NBA 2K24. You are not tied down entirely to one team, and you have options to go elsewhere. Fortunately, 2K Sports has made enacting this pretty straightforward.

First, you need to load up 2K. From the main menu, head to MyCAREER mode. Inside this game mode, you need to navigate to the options, where you will find “Request a Trade”. This option will signal to your team that you’re interested in moving on.

After that, patience is key. After three in-game days (or five real-life minutes), the offers will begin to come in for your player to join certain teams. This is predicated on your player being valuable, though. If you’re struggling to get into the starting lineup and struggling to make an impact, teams may not send any offers your way.

Alternatively, if you’re playing badly enough, your team may want to trade you even if there’s no request. If you aren’t good, the team may ship you off for draft picks. You’ll be on a new roster, but you’ll probably be in a worse situation, so this is not advised.

Sometimes a change of scenery is good, so you can use the request trade option to change things up and move from the Miami Heat to the Portland Trail Blazers, for example. It can backfire, though. You could be on the Los Angeles Lakers and end up being traded to the Houston Rockets.

MyCAREER is available on every platform that 2K is on, both next gen and last gen. It released September 8 for Xbox Series X|S, PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PlayStation 5.
