The City is a feature that’s been in NBA 2K since 21 and it’s coming back in NBA 2K24. MyCAREER mode allows players to achieve their NBA dreams in The City, which is exclusively available on new-gen consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Over the years, it has become a critical hub for players on a quest to become the NBA’s greatest player. Here’s what’s new for the upcoming release.

What is coming to The City in NBA 2K24?
Among the main changes to The City for NBA 2K24, streetball side quests, a refreshing beachfront environment, and new Affiliations are probably going to be the most popular. These Affiliations include RISE and ELITE. They effectively serve as factions for the city, and there are only two of them this time around. Join one and compete to raise your team to victory and reap the rewards.
You will start as an unafilliated humble rookie, so it’s up to you to find out which one you want to join based on what they have to offer. Chris Manning can help you decide. Before you’re even in an NBA team’s starting lineup, you can earn REP by playing in The City. Earning REP and making it into the top 10 grants new prizes, including a special logo. A coveted spot in that top 10 is very difficult to get, though.
Bordering white sand beaches, The City for 2K24 has breathtaking views all around. The City’s beachfront courts are great for showcasing dazzling skills and creative moves. Players can also wander through the streets to find new buildings and basketball courts. These beaches have casual 3v3 competitions for your MyPLAYER to join.
The beachfront street is where players can go to the Pro-AM, The REC, Ante-Up, Theater, Club 2K, and all-new Starting 5 buildings. Starting 5 is brand new in this game.
Perhaps the most exciting new change is the streetball side quest. In this, there are three courts throughout The City where players can find challenging bosses, difficult teams, and a rowdy environment. These can be among the most important games your MyPLAYER ever sees. This is a single-player experience.
In streetball, there is an MC, DJ, and a crowd waiting to rush the court. This side quest has its own progression system that gives players the chance to earn Takeover perks, which can be vital to improving your player.
