Yes, Need for Speed Unbound is open world. Just as many previous renditions have had before, Unbound will have open world gameplay. Whilst the game will, of course, still lean heavily on the racing and car upgrading, there is a free-roam world surrounding you at all times. So yes, Need for Speed Unbound is open world, but players should not expect a complete degree of freedom that you might expect from Rockstar games, for example. This is still primarily a racing game.
