Can you play Payday 3 by yourself? This heist game features in-depth multiplayer mechanics that allow you and your friends to rob banks and various other establishments in a series of missions. You can choose to go loud or use stealth to your advantage.

Starbreeze Studios, despite dealing with many server issues at launch, has created a fun experience for many gamers on both console and PC. Of course, there are those who want to experience the gameplay of Payday 3 in a single-player mode.

Whether it is searching for the jewelry store code or breaking into the bank vault, some players would like to take on the missions by themselves. Is there a solo mode in Payday 3? Can you play Payday 3 solo?

Can you play Payday 3 solo?

Yes! Despite Payday 3 being an online game, you can play the game by yourself. There is no solo mode. Instead, you need to do a workaround with the lobby types.

Playing by yourself in Payday 3 means that you won’t have any real-life teammates and instead will be playing with AI teammates or Bots. It does make the game very different.

Payday 3 – How to play single-player

If you want to play by yourself, follow these steps.

  1. Launch Payday 3
  2. Go to play and select heists
  3. In the heists menu, select your heist
  4. Set the lobby type to Friends Only or Invite Only
  5. Hit the matchmaking option

The game will go through the whole matchmaking process but will ultimately give you AI companions to go through the mission with. You will see the AI bots appear in the bottom left of the lobby screen after the matchmaking is complete.

Following these steps will let you do solo runs of the various heists in Payday 3. This method can be used with friends as well to play with one friend or multiple.

Many players are hoping for a patch that will add a single-player mode to the game so they no longer need a Starbreeze account or an internet connection to play the game.
