Payday 3 has been out for all of 1 day and it’s already in bother with the community. Whilst many praise the game for being fantastic, others are condemning the game due to recent server outages that have left players locked out of Payday 3 for more than 12 hours. Payday 3 players demand an offline mode following recent server outages.

Unlike Payday 2, Payday 3 does not yet offer solo play, to even get into the games menu, you have to connect to the game’s servers. This is fine for some people but frustrating for others who wish to play the game offline without having to connect to a server. Particularly useful when the game servers are down.

Payday 3 players demand an offline mode because of server outages

As you might be aware, the Payday 3 matchmaking servers have been down for around 12 hours as of the time of writing. An exceptionally long time for any game to be offline, especially on release day. It seems as though the outages are the cause of the Payday 3 Nebula error.

Thankfully, there is an end in sight as the latest update reveals the Payday 3 servers gradually coming back online. However, the sheer size and length of the outages have players calling for an offline mode to be added to the game.

@legent120 on Twitter said in response to the latest update on Payday 3 Twitter regarding the servers: “Glad things are being fixed but please make offline play in the October patch so I don’t feel like I wasted my money.”

Another user by the name of @bryce_kitson said: “Thank you for being so dedicated to getting this fixed, but as many others have stated, I hope this makes you consider adding offline play. As someone who has defended you guys to the death, even I have to admit how frustrating this wait has been.

Some players even went as far as mocking the release of Payday 3 without an online mode, @RodrigoTenoriio said: “Let’s make an always online game, with no offline single player, surely its going to work fine…“.

It’s clear to see that players of Payday 3 are frustrated with how much downtime the game has had on its first day of official release. Payday 3 is scheduled to have an update in October, and these server outages have many people hoping that an Offline mode will be a part of it.

Payday 3 should have an offline mode

We think that it should be standard practice for every game to have an offline mode, not everybody can or wants to be dialed into the net all the time. We hope that Offline Mode does come to Payday 3 in future updates.

For now, though, all we can do is sit, wait, and hope for the server issues to be resolved so we can get to heisting once again.
