Payday 3 has been around for all of 24 hours and we’ve already seen major server issues for matchmaking in the game. Players were left with really slow matchmaking times or were unable to matchmake at all. Luckily, we have an update from the Payday 3 Twitter account stating that Payday 3 matchmaking servers are gradually coming back online.

Thankfully, after a long 12 hours, we’re starting to see the Payday 3 matchmaking servers boot up again. The issues were addressed by the Payday 3 team over 12 hours ago, with subsequent updates holding no solutions. However, it was not through lack of trying.
Thankfully, however, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, as mere seconds ago, this update was posted on the Payday 3 Twitter account:
It looks like everything is getting back on track, we should see both matchmaking time and success rate improve over the coming hours. As of yet, there is no time frame on when the issues will be fully fixed and the servers back to full strength, but it’s good to know we’re heading in the right direction.

The matchmaking server issues have likely been caused by the popularity of the game, as Payday 3 climbed to the top of Steam’s top-seller list just moments before the servers went down. It looks like the Payday 3 team stole the entire show, but bagged more than they could handle.
It’s good to see Payday on top once more, it’s been far too long since Payday 2 was released and I thought it couldn’t get any better than that. Boy, was I wrong.
It shouldn’t be too long before the Payday 3 servers are back in full swing and we can all get back to heisting. We’ll keep you updated if anything changes regarding the Payday 3 matchmaking servers.
