What is Professional mode in Resident Evil 4 Remake?
Professional Mode, simply put, is one of the game’s many difficulty settings. There are four settings in total; assisted, standard, hardcore, and professional. Professional mode is the hardest difficulty in the game and takes true skill to complete. The following changes take effect in Professional mode:
- Autosaves are turned off
- Parrying is limited to perfect parries
- All weapon upgrades are unlocked at the start of the game
No autosaves means that you will need to save manually each time you reach a typewriter. If you die, you will revert back to where you last saved. Parrying is also very limited in this mode, requiring you to hit the button at the right moment to deflect an attack. Like in hardcore mode, enemies are much stronger and can easily kill you if you aren’t paying attention. Luckily, you have weapon upgrades available right away which is great if you are using a weapon like the Punisher.
