Thanks to the crafting system, you can focus on every last detail of your ship from the ship’s engine and grav drive to the amount of cargo space there is in the cargo hold. Make sure there is enough to hold a pile of contraband.
You will have multiple ships for different purposes all housed at the spaceport. One might be used for getting from planet to planet in record speed while another might be focused on raiding enemy ships during combat. How to change home ship in Starfield
If you want to switch ships in Starfield, you will want to track down a ship services technician at a spaceport. They are typically located right next to where you land your ship and offer services like ship repairs and the ability to simply craft a new ship.
Tell the technician that you would “like to view or modify” your ships. This will bring you to the ship-building menu. From here, you will see a prompt at the bottom of the screen. On PC, press the H key, and on Xbox, press the start button. This will make the ship you are currently editing your home ship.
There are technicians in many areas of the universe such as New Atlantis, Akila City, and Neon. Any of these technicians can help you switch ships.
Remember, if you steal an enemy ship, it will automatically become your home ship. This means that it will spawn with each time you go to a spaceport until you change it.
How to switch ships in Starfield
If you want to switch ships in Starfield, perform the following actions:
- Go to a Ship Services Technician
- Select View or modify ships
- Select the ship that you wish to use
- Press H key on PC or the Start button on Xbox to make this your home ship
- Exit the menu and start using your selected ship
After switching ships, you will be able to dock your selected vessel at spaceports and at space stations like the casino.
