From the developer of Fallout and Skyrim, Starfield goes beyond the realm of the Earth and into the sky. In this game, you will be able to explore the galaxy, visiting various planets along the way. This new RPG is looking to go above and beyond Bethesda’s previous games.
Starfield is a massive game that many believe will surpass the size of No Man’s Sky which also allows you to experience the wonders of the universe. Whether you want this game on Xbox or PC, you know that Todd Howard didn’t need to send a newsletter to get people excited. However, it’d be nice to know if there’s more than a single player campaign and all these rumors keep causing confusion.
If you want to join the world of Starfield, you can do so by pre-ordering the game or purchasing one of its different editions. When the Starfield release date comes, you’ll be one of the fans that knows whether this is a strictly single-player experience or not.
Will Starfield have multiplayer?
No. Starfield is a single-player game and will not have a multiplayer mode at launch. However, there are some that believe that there will be a multiplayer mode or multiplayer mod added at some point in the future thanks to the success of games like Fallout 76. However, there are companions that will make it feel like you’re playing with other people, even if they’re just doing what you say.
There is no sign that Starfield will have multiplayer added in the future. This is unfortunate for those who like games like Elder Scrolls Online since it would be fun to explore the universe and interact with other players. Starfield Direct went over the game’s features, but we didn’t see anything on an online multiplayer mode, just the singleplayer experience, but there’s no telling what the modding community can come up with.
We may see Starfield multiplayer post-launch but for now, this is going to be more like the multiplayer for No Man’s Sky multiplayer when it launched — nonexistent.
Is Starfield co-op?
No. Just like with multiplayer, Starfield will not be co-op at launch. There are also no plans to add co-op in the future. Just like with multiplayer, this could change depending on how the game is received. Bethesda Game Studios does not usually add multiplayer features to their games, but that may change with Starfield. It’s a big enough game that there is room for other players to form a crew or have co-op modes going.
There is always a chance that co-op could be added through mods or by the developer in the future. For now, you will be setting out on this Xbox Series X and PC journey by yourself. There is bound to be plenty in the universe to keep you entertained though, so even if there’s no co-op multiplayer, the game is a modder’s paradise and it’s only a matter of time before we see a multiplayer option with online requirements from that community.
