Get ready to embark on a great RPG experience in Starfield. Bethesda Studios, developer of Fallout and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, is going beyond the Earth to the skies above. There will be plenty to experience when the release date of Starfield rolls around.
While the prospect of Starfield has many fans excited, there are still many questions out there that need to be answered. What platforms can you expect to find the game on? Is this an Xbox exclusive?
If Starfield is exclusive, that means it could possibly not be coming to PS5 or PS4. Can the game be played on Xbox One? If you are a PlayStation console owner you may want to pay attention. Is Starfield coming to PS4?
Will Starfield come to PS4?
Starfield will not come to PS4. Since Zenimax Media, the parent company of the publisher Bethesda, was bought by Microsoft, it doesn’t look good for Bethesda games on PlayStation. This means that it will not be coming to PS4 when it launches in September. Microsoft has control over what consoles the game will release on and the company has decided to make it exclusive to Xbox consoles. Bethesda Game Studios will most likely only add games to Microsoft’s game library.
PlayStation timed exclusivity for PlayStation was normal for Bethesda titles, but since the parent company of Bethesda was bought out, all of their franchises will be part of the Xbox brand. So the new owner of Bethesda software has guaranteed Starfield exclusivity for Microsoft. Thanks to this, Starfield will most likely remain an Xbox and PC-exclusive game and never come to Sony’s consoles.
This could also translate to more games from Bethesda being exclusives in the future. Future releases will be guaranteed not to come to PlayStation players. The good news is that Starfield will be on Xbox Game Pass on day one so those who have Game Pass can play the game when it launches in September. There are multiple editions of the game as well as multiple pre-order bonuses that you can get.
Make sure to pre-order the game if you want to get the bonuses and possibly get early access. Bethesda has stated that there will be a period of up to five days early access for some editions of the game.
