Does Steelrising Have an Easy Mode?
Yes. In Steelrising, you can adjust the game’s difficulty to create an defacto easy mode and make the experience more accessible.
How to Enable Assist Mode?
In Steelrising, easy mode is called the assist mode. It allows you to change up some settings.
First of all, you can either Enable or Disable the Assist Mode. To do this, press the New Game button in the main menu. There, you’ll see an option to either Start a new game or Enable Assist mode.
There you have a menu with a few options to tweak. You can adjust the Damage Reduction setting to take less damage from enemy hits. You can set it at either 0, 25, 50, 75, or 100%. Set it up at 100% and you’ll take no damage from enemy attacks. You will still recieve fall damage.
The second option is to keep Anima Essence after death. If you enable this, you won’t lose your essence upon dying. Anima Essence is similar to essence or souls from your typical souls-like game used as currency to progress your character. You can turn on easy mode in Steelrising for that option alone. The game’s difficulty will stay the same, but you won’t lose your Essence.
You can also adjust your Endurance regeneration speed. It’s the equivalent of stamina. At 100 it will regenerate normally, but you can set this as high as 300, regenerating three times faster than normal – true Steelrising easy mode.
Lastly, you have an Easy cooling option. Cooling is a mechanic in Steelrising that works somewhat like overheating. After you use up all of your endurance, you’ll need to cool down. This setting makes this mechanic easier for the player.
It’s worth noting that overall the game is quite challenging. If you use the Assist Mode some of the achievements will be locked. Mostly those related to difficulty-related settings.
