Street Fighter 6 is the latest installment in the famous franchise that just about everyone knows and probably loves from their childhood. The sixth game will be released in June 2023, bringing back all the beloved vibes of the old games in a newly crafted way while bringing in modern elements.

Cross-progression is fantastic for gamers who own multiple consoles like a PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, or PC. It allows players to be able to pick up where they left off in a game on a different console than they last played on. Usually, games support this by using a cloud save linked to an account of some sort.

For players who own multiple consoles they might wonder, does street fight 6 have cross-progression?

Is cross-progression available for Street Fighter 6?

The Street Fighter 6 game does not support cross-progression, meaning if a player begins their fighting journey on a PS5 but wants to pick it back up on an Xbox or PC later, they won’t be able to. They will be required to begin with a brand new character all over again on that new console.

This is quite unfortunate as many players could switch between consoles if they own a couple. However, with Street Fighter 6 being multiplayer, players don’t have to stress about being limited to what friends they can play with based on console preference.

Nevertheless, it doesn’t change the fact that players can’t share their saved data with another console for Street Fighter 6. Once a player begins the game, they will be tied to that console unless they don’t mind starting over. For now, there is no way to transfer complete saved data from one console to another either, so be sure to choose the right console for the long haul.

Is Street Fighter 6 cross-save?

The new Street Fighter 6 does support multiplayer, meaning everyone can play with their friends on any console. However, for gamers owning more than one console, it is important to know that just as it isn’t cross-progression, it is not cross-saveable either. If a player owns the game on both Xbox and PlayStation, they won’t be able to transfer or save the data between “accounts.”

Players will have two completely different characters on each digital or physical copy of Street Fighter 6. The single only time that players will be able to cross-save is with the exception of a Steam Deck. If gamers who are playing Street Fighter 6 choose to play the game on PC’s Steam, that automatically means they can pick the game up on Steam Deck.

Street Fighter 6 is Steam Deck verified, so players can only save between PC and Steam Deck since it all runs from Steam, to begin with. That means players can progress on PC, pick up their Steam Deck afterward to go sit outside and play some more, and then whenever they get back on PC, their progress will be there waiting for them. Otherwise, Street Fighter 6 is not cross-save.
