Dead Island 2 is the long-awaited sequel in the Dead Island franchise – and its finally here with the countdown to launch. After years of radio silence about the game, we have finally received hope and a release date for it.

Fans are starting to get excited and ready to dive back into the world of Dead Island. Of course, the question now has to be raised on if Dead Island 2 will be coming to Steam or not. Let’s go over if you can expect Dead Island 2 on Steam or on PC at all.

Is Dead Island 2 on Steam?

Dead Island 2 will not be following the rest of the franchise and will not release on Steam. This seems to be due to an exclusivity rights purchase done by Epic Games. This is just another gut punch following the news about the PS4 release of the game.

That means that the Epic Games store is where you want to head if you’re looking to buy the game digitally. While it won’t be on Steam for release, these exclusivity deals normally run out after a year, so it will come to Steam at some point.

It will just take a bit of time for it to. The other way you can buy it is through Amazon, where the physical version of the game, the digital code and the Hell-A Edition are up for grabs. We’ve collated links for you below where you can do so.

Will Dead Island 2 Release On PC?

Although it won’t be on Steam, Dead Island 2 will still be coming to PC. You will only be able to get Dead Island 2 through the Epic Games store on PC for at least the first year. There is no telling when exactly the exclusivity deal will run out with Epic Games, but you will have to wait until that time for Dead Island 2 to come to another PC storefront.

While Epic Games is not the worst place to pick up PC games from, it definitely does have a reputation for many PC gamers that is less than ideal. This stems more from the number of games that are forced onto their platform.
