The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was released less than 24 hours ago and a Zelda fan and speedrunner has already completed the game. We know speedrunners tend to take almost no time to complete games, but an RPG like Zelda should take at least some time.

Yet, in less than a few hours, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was finished.

Player beats The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom already

Gymnast86 a Zelda speed runner posted a video of them completing the brand new game in a stunning time of One hour 34 minutes and 33 seconds that’s a fast 94 minutes.

This was completed without an Amiibo which would usually grant you access to extra materials, new cosmetics, and generic small enhancements to reward you for having the figurines. If you’re looking to avoid major spoilers skip past the video below of Gymnast86’s speedrun.

Given the size and vast area of the game, this time is a feat in itself especially on release day no less. But as more and more Zelda superfans get their hands on this release this time is expected to drop over the coming days and weeks as more tips, tricks and secrets are unveiled.

Gymnast86 has made a separate video helpfully going into detail on how he pulled off this timely completion and expressed that some of the glitches and tricks that were previously used to speedrun through Breath of the Wild have been either patched or fixed in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, so those of you who will be trying to crack through Gymnast86’s time will have to find new ways to hurry through the lands of Hyrule.

Since The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has added a collection of new abilities and other gameplay tactics including the Ultra Hand which lets you fuse items together it won’t be long until other dedicated players will find new and inventive ways of slashing the time on this speed run. In the video, Gymnast makes use of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s new weapon fusing ability which lets players fuse two items together to create a more powerful weapon. They go on in their Tears of the Kingdom Speedrun Infodump video to explain about the mechanic of different weapon classes has different abilities that come with them.

With the current record times for completing Breath of the Wild sitting at around 23 minutes (23 minutes 42 seconds by an American gameplayer – Player5) we expect this speedrun time for Tears of the Kingdom to drop and drop but for a first-day release 94 Minutes and time enough to make two videos about it is pretty impressive, congratulations Gymnast86.

What do you think? Do you think you could beat their time and speedrun this newest release? Or will Gymnast86 stay at the top of the leader board for the foreseeable future? Do you have any tips that they missed that would’ve made that run even faster? Tell us! we would love to hear all the exciting things you would try.
