Zelda Tears of the Kingdom – The story so far

Welcome back to the world of Hyrule, we are all excited to be once again adventuring through these enemy laden lands and discovering what this latest instalment has in store! Before you venture forth here is a quick recap of what has happened so far within the Zelda franchise.
The story up to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
100 years ago, in the kingdom of Hyrule, the resurrection of Calamity Ganon was on the horizon. Zelda, the Princess of Hyrule, Link the hero chosen by the Master sword and 4 champions, each from one of Hyrule’s regions all came together to protect the land of Hyrule from this evil. Zelda struggled to awaken the triforce to help seal away the Demon but despite efforts Calamity Ganon awoke and besieged the land.
In the end, all four champions and King of Hyrule perished, our hero Link was gravely hurt, Hyrule crumbled. To protect Link, Zelda managed to awaken her power and used it to seal Calamity Ganon away temporarily after Link was transferred to the Shrine of Resurrection to sleep and heal from his injuries.
Breath of the Wild and beyond
100 years later, Link awakens to a voice, an oddly recognisable voice. He has no recollection of the past and standing before him was Hyrule, the land he had loved and protected, transformed by the Calamity. After travelling around, discovering the Sheikah Slate and towers our hero Link is later met with the ghost of the King of Hyrule. He learns from the spirit that for the past century Zelda alone has been containing the calamity and so with the plans to defeat the great evil he begins his mission across Hyrule facing many dangerous foes, undertaking ancient challenges, and making new allies.
As Link journeys through Hyrule he regains his strength. Once again Link wields the Master sword and heads to the final battle against Calamity Ganon to restore peace. Strengthened by Zelda’s voice Link challenges Calamity Ganon and after a long struggle and dramatic battle our hero gains the upper hand, Zelda casts her Triforce powers and finally seals Calamity Ganon away for good—or so we think.
We end hearing Zelda’s voice drift to Link,
“I always thought – no, I always believed- that you would find a way to defeat Ganon. I never lost faith in you over these many years…Thank you Link. The hero of Hyrule. May I ask? Do you really remember me?”

Do you remember her? Is Ganon gone for good? Where in Hyrule will you be fighting foes? We believe this franchise and its characters are hard to forget with its well written storylines and deep lore that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be adding a great deal too.
