The third item in the Ada Lovelace roundup, the RTX 4070 Ti, brings the entry price down to an almost bearable $799. While DLSS 3 aims to improve the performance situation, raw performance is essentially on par with the RTX 3090 but having half the memory and less power consumption.
After being unlaunched, the RTX 4080 12GB was repackaged as the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, which will be available on January 5. But how do the RTX 4070 Ti’s specifications and performance compare to those of the RTX 3060 Ti?
We can now confirm that the RTX 4070 Ti’s official specifications match those of the RTX 4080 12GB.
Technical comparison of the two graphics cards, with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti on the other side and the RTX 3060 Ti on the other. The first one is for the RTX 3060 Ti, which has 8GB of RAM and 4864 shading units with a base clock speed of 1410MHz. The RTX 4070 Ti is the second one. It has 12GB of memory, 7680 shading units, and a basic clock speed of 2310 MHz.

Design can be a little basic for some
A basic entry for the 4070 Ti that will cost close to MSRP
ZOTAC still has great quality builds even for a lower price
Will fall behind in perfromance without a factory overclock
The only real question left is how performance scales down to the AD104 GPU with fewer shaders, less memory, less cache, a smaller memory interface, etc., since we’ve already covered Nvidia’s Ada Lovelace design. According to information that has leaked, the rebadged RTX 4080 12GB will be 20–25% slower than the RTX 4080, putting it in the RTX 3090 range.
We advise readers to wait until the RTX 4070 Ti has been released on January 5 in order to read the most recent reviews before making a purchase decision.
It’s safe to say, though, that performance expectations for the RTX 4070 Ti are higher than those for the RTX 3060 Ti. But at what cost? Additionally, we advise using our helpful guide, which features the top ATX, RGB, and water-cooling cases, to see if your PC case is capable of supporting the 3060 Ti.
About the RTX 4070 Ti, we’re a little enthusiastic. On January 5, Nvidia will release the graphics card for $799, making it finally more affordable than AMD’s new GPUs. Despite how alluring this is, we groggily advise delaying purchasing until after those impartial reviews.
Comparing the two cards on 3DMark we can see the graphical potential of the two. Where the 4070 Ti achieves a score of 22,652 compared to the 3060 Tis 11,589. That means the 4070 Ti is 95% better than the 3060 Ti.
Then we compare the speed of the graphics cards, these are how fast the processor goes through the instructions. And there the 3060 Ti has a base clock of 1,410 MHz and a boost clock of 1,665 MHz. Whilst the RTX 4070 Ti has a base clock of 2,310 MHz and a boost clock of 2,610 MHz. That means the 4070 Ti has a 64% and 57% faster base and boost clock than the 3060 Ti.
