The first accurate benchmarks for the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT have been released, replete with accurate frame rate measurements. We already had a general understanding of how its more potent cousin performed, but now we have a better notion of what kind of 4K gaming performance each graphics card might provide. Team red made these most recent AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT benchmarks available.

While playing Resident Evil Village with RT functions off, the pixel pusher reaches a top frame rate of 157, with games like Modern Warfare 2 and Watch Dogs: Legion clocking in at 117 and 85 frames per second, respectively. While Cyberpunk 2077 is 60 frames per second.

Naturally, frame rates drop when ray tracing is enabled. 115 frames per second are still quite playable for Resident Evil Village, while 18 frames per second turn Cyberpunk 2077 into a slideshow. Thankfully, AMD FSR can be used to boost the speed back up to 57 frames per second. However, it’s unclear what quality preset was utilised to do this. When gaming in 4K at high settings, AMD claims that both RX 7900 cards surpass the Radeon RX 6950 XT.

The two reportedly accomplish this feat with or without FSR, though AMD hasn’t given fans any information on how the RX 7900 XT or RX 7900 XTX compare against the RTX 4080 in this area. Instead, the company has emphasised that both cards have more TFLOPs than the RTX 4080 while being less expensive.

With additional benefits, including DisplayPort 2.1 compatibility and a USB Type-C port, AMD is promoting the Radeon RX 7900 series as offering greater value overall than the RTX 4080. After the RTX 4080 is out, AMD will most likely announce gaming benchmarks within the next few weeks.

Compared to the AMD company’s current best graphics card in the market, the 6950 XT, the Radeon RX 7900 XT looks to offer a suitably better level of performance.
