Despite its rivals, the 7900 XTX is fantastic for this kind of job. Yet why? Why is this GPU perfect for VR gaming? What would currently be the greatest VR gaming GPU?

Though certain games could need more, most VR games need a graphics card with at least 10GB of dedicated RAM. Additionally, a GPU with a high number of processing cores and a rapid clock speed is necessary to ensure that graphics can be rendered swiftly and smoothly.

Do these requirements get met by the RX 7900 XTX? Yes. It has 24GB of GDDR6 memory and a 2000MHz gaming frequency. 84 computing units and 84 ray accelerators are also available.

In addition to these technical specifications, the GPU needs to work with the VR headset you are using. For instance, your GPU needs to be able to support the Oculus Link feature of the Oculus Quest 2 headset, which enables the headgear to be connected to a PC in order to access more potent VR material.

Having a graphics card with a lot of VRAM space should essentially work flawlessly; the 7900 XTX’s 24GB is a match. Additionally, VR gaming needs high frequencies. The RX 7900 XTX’s boost clock speed of 2615 MHz is more than adequate for the amount of data that the entire rig will be transferring in order to produce the dynamic experience.

The inclusion of DisplayPort 2.1 is another of the 7900 XTX’s greatest features. By enabling even more data to be drawn at once, this kind of port enhances the performance of VR gaming. However, this has a price because, despite being low for the performance offered, the GPU’s power consumption is still higher than in earlier attempts.
