AMD’s current second-best gaming processor (just behind the flagship 7900X3D) is enjoying a hefty price slash than almost makes it as cheap as the 7800X3D, a go-to CPU for gamers right now. For just $20 more, you can now pick up the 7900X3D, which is excellent value for money, especially compared to its usual list price.
When looking at Amazon, you’ll find a 32% price drop for the CPU in question, and on top of that there is a $17.03 coupon available which drags the price down even further. Both of these are some of the best CPUs for gaming right now, but the 7900X3D would be our pick right now thanks to this deal.
AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D is on sale
Usually priced at $599.00, the 7900X3D has recently dropped down to $406.02. However, throw in an extra coupon and it now costs you just $388.99. Considering that the price of the 7800X3D (at the time of writing) is $369.00, there’s a mere $19.99 difference between them.
Just like Amazon, Newegg is also offering a promo code to bring the price down to the very same price. So no matter which retailer you prefer, you’re in for a great deal. We can’t be sure for how much longer this deal will last, so be sure not to hesitate.
Is it worth it over the 7800X3D?
We’ve already compared the 7800X3D vs 7900X3D and found that that latter is the more ‘complete’ processor. It offers upgraded specs across the board including four extra cores and eight extra threads, a higher boost clock speed and even more cache packed in. Despite all these improvements, the TDP remains the same at a manageable 120W.
Usually the 7900X3D is priced much higher than the 7800X3D, which led many gamers to simply go for the cheaper option. However, the more high-end model offers improved performance for workloads, as well as gaming. For as long as there’s just $20 between them, the 7900X3D is the clear winner.
