There’s no better feeling than gaming, working, streaming or creating content, in a place that’s truly your own, that’s perfect for you. When you’ve got the lighting, the feel, the setup just right, everything just clicks, and it becomes more than just a game, a moment of escape, but turns into a memory. Something tangible.

With that in mind, things we’re certain you didn’t expect to see launch at Gamescom 2023 was a standing desk from CORSAIR. This beautiful piece of design, the CORSAIR Platform:6, takes all the best features you could possibly think of when it comes to the ultimate gaming desk, and combines them into a seamless product just for you.

Let’s face it, building your perfect gaming setup can be a challenge. You’ve got to find the room in your home, then find a suitable desk, build it, then configure it to your specifications. Then you need to get a mic arm, maybe monitor arms as well? Do you place your PC on the desk or off it? How do you manage cable management? There’s a huge number of considerations to make, and for most, there’s just a) not enough time, or b) not enough desire to do that. Interior design is no joke, and that’s why many of us will spend our hard-earned cash on a little extra advice from folks in the know. Otherwise, everything else is going to end up a shade of millennial grey, and we’ll call it a day.

The Platform:6

So then, the Platform:6, what are we looking at here? Well,, it comes in four separate models total. The Fixed Height variant (think your standard height desk), the Elevate (one with those standing features built in), the Elevate Wood (identical but with a beautiful dark walnut finish), and lastly the Creator Edition Wood (which has everything and the kitchen sink thrown at it).

The base version, the fixed height model, features a black laminate, the modular t-channel rail system, and dual VESA monitor arms as well (yes you can install two 27″ OLED XENEONS on this if you want). You can also expand it with the top mounted pegboard system, and expand it sideways as well. The Elevate as the name suggests is very similar to the fixed height, with the added bonus of having an adjustable height thanks to dual electric motors on either end of the desk. You can also opt for a “rubber wood” surface, that’s stained in a dark walnut finish, and is sourced from environmentally friendly wood. Then lastly there’s the Creator edition. This is the absolute full stack version, that includes additional rail space for shelves, pegboards, and additional Elgato lighting as well.

Additional Features

Where the Platform:6 really shines however is in the additional features, and boy are they numerous. Let’s break it down then shall we?

Modular Rail System

There’s also that rail system you see in some of the shots, you simply attach this to any of the corner posts, and it acts as an additional mounting points for a whole plethora of hardware. In fact you can have up to 2x 100x100mm vesa mounted monitors weighing up to 8KG each.

Top Mounted Extension Leads

Each Platform:6 also comes with an extension lead included as standard. Although it’s not a surge protector, it does come with six sockets, and two USB Type As as well. It can also be mounted underneath the desk, or on the T bar, depending on your preference.

RapidRoute Cable Management Systems

The desk also comes with a number of cable management channels, which can be clipped on to the rail, or the back of the desk, or the corner supports, or the pegboard too. These will be familiar to anyone who’s built in a CORSAIR chassis in the last four years, and easily allows you to strap any cable down that you need to from any device on the desk.

Even More Flexibility

On top of all of that, and featured in the Creator variant, you can also pick up the Elgato Multi Frame. This bundle includes two additional pegboards, two small shelves (ideally suited for speakers), one wide shelf, a number of pegboard hooks, two more vertical rails, one horizontal rail, and even more cable management solutions. It’s super easy to build out, too, you can find the full process here.

The whole system is incredibly intuitive, and versatile enough to work for any situation you might need. The next big Twitch streamer or content creator? The Platform:6 Creator is for you. Bit of a professional that works from home? Then the Elevate is the perfect solution. Just want a simple, no hassle, gaming desk for the evenings away from the job? Then the standard fixed height fits the budget perfectly.
