There are multiple benefits to playing with bots in Counter-Strike 2, such as training players or just feeling good for clearing out easy lobbies of bots. We’re not here to judge or ask why, we know how much fun playing with bots is in CS2 and we’re going to help you do it.
It is possible to play with bots without breaking the rules, but there are ways that tend to violate multiplayer guidelines. Our first method will not result in a ban, then we’ll move onto a method that might.
How to get bot lobbies in Counter-Strike 2
So the easiest way to get bot lobbies is to not go to matchmaking at all. Press Play as you normally would, and then go to Practice. You can pick any mode, competitive or deathmatch, and you can pick your bot difficulty on the left. These are for singleplayer experiences, but you are able to do it with a lot of people at once.
You can make it a private match and invite friends to play bot lobbies with you. In terms of matchmaking, you can’t really get a bot lobby after your first few matches.
You cannot control the bots, like give bot commands, or do more than adjust the game’s settings in the settings menu. Since you already picked a match with bots in it, it’d be silly to remove them using console commands or to enable developer console to mess with them. You can always find more mods in the Steam Workshop to play other modes with bots if that’s what you prefer.
Bot lobbies are meant to introduce you to the game and make you feel like you’ve got a real chance at being good at the game. That being said, there are some ways to get easier opponents and lobbies filled with bots. Be sure not to do them since they are against the rules.
How to get more lobbies filled with bots in CS2
Skill-based matchmaking tends to favor bot lobbies for those with low skill or who are new to the game. CS:GO didn’t seem heavy on skill-based matchmaking, but it looks like CS2 may be. Since CS:GO became CS2, the below may work. So there are some ways to get bot lobbies that will definitely go against the rules. Remember, if you are caught doing these things in most games, you will be banned or punished in some way.
Here are ways to get more bot lobbies in CS2:
- Play poorly on purpose
- Lose games quickly on purpose
- Start a new account, also known as smurfing
- Play with a friend or a new account so that the level of the enemies are low enough to introduce bots
Games that use skill-based matchmaking want you to win more than you lose, so if your skill is low enough they will give you a win. If you can run CS2 with your GPU and don’t encounter launch errors, this should work.
We never recommend exploiting the matchmaking algorithm to get easier lobbies because you can be banned for things like that. We just have this up for educational purposes.
We recommend everyone use the normal difficulty when facing bots to learn about different weapons and finding your preferred way to play. Try going for the maximum number of bots and seeing how you play well. When you are good enough, go ahead and try the multiplayer mode the fair way.
