As CSGO is slowly going to be sunsetted, we didn’t expect to see much more content for it. Since the upcoming Counter-Strike 2 release date is sometime in the summer, but yet we have gotten a new case. And in the CSGO update on 24th April 2023, we got the release of the Anubis collection, with a small change in maps.

What might be surprising, is that in previous collections you couldn’t just buy from the in-game store. Most previous options were the drops from the operations in the game, which were events with battle passes in them. So getting that and completing missions and challenges is how you unlocked the skins.

A lot of these collections have theming and this one is no different. Based on the Anubis map that was added to the game in March 2020 initially, it was taken out in 2021. But then added back in August 2022 and introduced into the active competitive roster in November 2022 after the Rio Major.

So with the theme, there are plenty of Ancient Egyptian styles of design. With plenty of lower-tier skins, there are a lot of great variations. And the top tier option is the M4A4 Eye of Horus in the red (covert) tier. But there are some great options lower down like the Glock Ramese’s Reach, and Famas Waters of Nephthys. So there are plenty of options depending on your preferences. And it will cost you £1.59 to try to get something good from the 19 new skins.

Map updates

There isn’t too much on the map front, and only really applies to those who play Danger Zone. With the changes coming to the Ember map, which we found out came to the game in February 2022. With the removal of spring celebrations in Ember Land, and the “Lava in the tunnels is rising”.

Along with “minor bug fixes”, it isn’t the main focus of the update and is very vague. But it’s unlikely the game will have too big of updates coming with the focus likely on the CS2, and don’t worry these new skins will carry over to Counter-Strike 2.
