Does anybody else think it’s time for Nvidia to update its Control Panel?
The Nvidia Control Panel is in desperate need of a fresh coat of paint.

Nvidia is a very well-developed trillion-dollar company, which stands at the forefront of modern GPU technology. However, there are some areas that are still more than a little outdated – mainly the Nvidia Control Panel. We feel it’s about time for Nvidia to update its Control Panel.
Or maybe it’s fine, maybe people like judging the fidelity of their 3D settings based on a 540 x 300 spinning Nvidia logo that was released 20 years ago.
Nvidia, it’s time to talk about your Control Panel
It works, that is all I can say regarding the Nvidia Control panel, but the fact remains that it is so incredibly simplistic, plain, and unintuitive that it may discourage newer users of Nvidia from delving any further into it. If you know your way around it then it’s fine, but if not it’s a pain to learn.
With that being said, I don’t want a fisher-price interface added to it either. I’m going to make a few controversial statements here, I’m not a huge fan of Geforce Experience. I, in no way, want the Nvidia Control panel to be integrated into, be a part of in any way, or be like Geforce Experience.
Something about locking features behind an account and forced advertising just seems a little wrong to me.
I just want a fresh coat of paint, maybe some improved functionality. I’d also like to see something a little more organized, with a way I can see the changes I make in real time.
Nvidia could be more like AMD
Controversial statement number 2 is that I think Nvidia should take a leaf out of AMD’s book. AMD Adrenaline Software is basically Nvidia’s answer to Geforce Experience, but it also has the functionality that the Nvidia Control Panel has. All this and more, whilst looking much cleaner.
The thing is, I’m a big fan of the term “if it ain’t broke, then don’t fix it”. To be honest, the Nvidia Control Panel is the only thing about Nvidia that’s worked consistently over the last 20 or so years. However, the Control Panel is in desperate need of a fresh coat of paint.
Compared to AMD’s Adrenaline interface, which just received a driver update post-7700XT launch, Nvidia’s Control Panel pales in comparison in terms of both design and functionality, in my opinion.
What do you think? is the Nvidia Control Panel fine the way it is? Or do you think it needs a little sprucing up?
