The Alienware AW3423DW remains a fan-favorite ultrawide monitor, a high-spec option for anyone looking to upgrade to an impressive QD-OLED display. This G-Sync Ultimate model tops our best ultrawide gaming monitor guide, and we’re not alone in that opinion. But with a price cut on the Dell store and Best Buy, it’s the perfect time to buy its FreeSync counterpart for less.
Despite releasing back in 2022, this Alienware monitor still holds up as one of the best in the OLED ultrawide category. The 21:9 display is highly popular, but the alternative AW3423DWF currently offers better value than ever, cutting down costs with just a couple specification changes.
Alienware AW3423DWF deal on Best Buy and Dell store
As we alluded to above, the AW3423DWF is a slightly different version of the AW3423DW, offering a cheaper price largely due to the loss of Nvidia G-Sync Ultimate. The AW3423DWF featured in this deal instead opts for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, which is an alternative variable refresh rate solution and just as good in our opinion – it’s AMD’s top tier after all.
We definitely think that you benefit the most by going for the FreeSync model thanks to the price cut in place, it is now available for $777.77 at both the Dell Store and Best Buy. In comparison, the G-Sync model will cost you $899.99.

As you can see above, there are a couple of key differences between the AW3423DWF and AW3423DW. The refresh rate and Adaptive Sync technology are main differences that separate the two. Doing a little bit of research leads us to RTINGS’ comparison, in which they describe the picture quality as ‘nearly the same between each’.
Despite having a slightly lower refresh rate, the AW3423DWF still offers better value for money, as there isn’t a whole lot of difference in just 10Hz and the responsive OLED panel ensures smooth operation regardless of the VRR solution. Thanks to being $122.22 cheaper than the G-Sync model, we definitely recommend the ‘F’ variant, unless you really want to stick to Nvidia’s own implementation.
