A new item in Fortnite has become very controversial and thus may never return again. Recently, the video game developer Epic Games has gotten into a slew of hot water as it has become the talk of the town. In addition to the company layoffs, which have affected 16% of employees, they have since released and vaulted a controversial emote.

Naturally, this has gained much attention, and many players have criticized Epic. However, there is more than what meets the eye. Find out what controversial item was removed and may never return to Fortnite again.

This item may never return again as it has become controversial in Fortnite

Epic Games has recently released a controversial emote called Share the Wealth to the Item Shop on Thursday, September 28, 2023. However, the reason for the controversy was due to bad timing. On the same day, Epic Games’ Tim Sweeney announced in an official email addressing the 830 company layoffs.

However, shortly after releasing this controversial item, they removed the entire Daily section in the Item Shop. The company addressed the issue on the Fortnite Status on X (formerly Twitter) account, stating that the Daily section would return with the next Refresh. It will be interesting to see if the controversial emote returns with it, although this is unlikely.

The Fortnite creator has received a lot of criticism for the emote. However, it’s necessary to mention that the Item Shop rotations are planned in advance. Due to this, this was simply an unfortunate coincidence.

Although Epic Games has laid off two-thirds of its workforce, CEO Tim Sweeney states business will continue normally. As a result, you can expect to see Fortnite Chapter 5 at its scheduled time.

Epic Games has released several other controversial items in the past. Unfortunately, these items haven’t returned in a long time. Travis Scott, who had his concert in Fortnite, now has one of the rarest skins in the game due to controversies. Additionally, the same goes for Rue, who was linked to the Nazi movement.
