Epic Games has released several controversial Fortnite skins over the past few years. Some of these skins have caused controversy immediately after their release, while some became controversial later on. Either way, Epic has decided to keep many of these skins in the vault and it’s unclear if they will ever return to the Item Shop.
Here’s a list of the five most controversial Fortnite skins ever released.
These most controversial Fortnite skins may never return to the game
1) Rue
Rue is one of the rarest Fortnite skins of all time. She was released to the Item Shop more than three years ago and is unlikely to return anytime soon. Shortly after the character came out, many players linked her to the Nazi movement, which is why Epic Games decided to vault her right away.
The rare Fortnite skin does have a resemblance to the movement, but it’ll be interesting to see if Epic changes her and brings her back. Rue has been released to the Item Shop only twice.
2) Travis Scott
Travis Scott had one of the greatest Fortnite live events of all time back in Chapter 2 – Season 2. Epic Games also released many of his cosmetic items, including his skin. Unfortunately, his Astrowold incident resulted in the death of several people, which is what made his skin quite controversial.
The Fortnite skin of the popular rapper was last seen in April 2020, and no one knows when Epic will bring it back.
3) Opal
Opal is one of the newest Fortnite skins. It was released during the Summer Escape event, but unfortunately, its release did not go without controversy. While no one knows the story of the character, many players criticized her for having a unique design.
It appears that most players prefer slim skins, but the hate for Opal was uncalled for.
4) Calamity
Calamity is a Battle Pass skin that came out in Chapter 1 – Season 6. She looks amazing, which is why many players obtained her as quickly as possible. However, the skin quickly became controversial when Fortnite players realized that it had unique breast physics.
Epic Games ended up nerfing the skin by removing the physics, putting an end to various jiggle videos online.
5) Balenciaga skins
Balenciaga skins were released in late 2021, but haven’t been out for nearly a year. Similar to Travis Scott, the popular fashion company faced a lot of backlash after coming into Fortnite. The clothing brand was criticized for using children in its marketing campaign, which is why these skins haven’t returned in a long time.
It’s unclear if Epic Games will ever bring these skins back to the Item Shop. However, this will likely happen in the future once the dust settles.
