The latest Fortnite update was released on Wednesday, September 6. Epic Games originally intended to release the update on Tuesday, but it was postponed by 24 hours. Due to this, many players were confused, as Epic already announced some new items in the in-game feed.
Today’s Fortnite update has brought two new items and four Reality Augments. The Shield Breaker EMP grenade, which was seen in the Season 4 trailer, was released with it, along with the Sticky Grenade Launcher.

Fortnite update has brought two new items
The Shield Breaker EMP grenade is perfect for disabling electronic equipment. The item was teased by Epic Games, and several data miners leaked its stats ahead of its release. Considering that many players love visiting vaults for Mythic weapons, the new item is perfect for raiding vaults.
The EMP grenade can be obtained from chests and heist bags. In addition to its efficiency against equipment, the new Fortnite item can be used to deal 70 shield damage.
The Sticky Grenade Launcher has also arrived with the latest Fortnite update. The explosive weapon uses rocket ammo and deals 70 to 74 damage to players, depending on its rarity. The structural damage is much higher (268 to 281), and players can shoot four grenades before reloading.
The new explosive weapon can be obtained from numerous loot sources, including floor loot, chests, and heist bags.
Besides the two items, Epic Games enabled four Reality Augments:
- Explosive Surplus
- High Voltage
- Storm Chaser
- Roaming Redeploy
The Roaming Redeploy perk is the only one that was unvaulted in the latest Fortnite update, while every other augment is new.
Explosive Surplus is perfect for gaining rocket ammo for the Sticky Grenade Launcher. High Voltage grants a Business Turret and Shield Breaker EMP, both instantly and for every elimination, while Storm Chaser reduces stamina used while sprinting, especially in the storm.
