The Fortnitemares event was recently released, yet many players are disgusted by the change in the lobby’s layout and want it reverted. It had been four years since Epic Games completely updated the user interface. As a result of this, a change to the UI is inevitable. Though Epic is likely to change the UI as Seasons and Chapters progress, the new change is not well received by players.

The new Fortnite lobby layout has disgusted players, and they want it to change
With the release of v26.30, Epic Games enabled a new layout for the Fortnite lobby. Unfortunately, this change has not gone smoothly for many Fortnite players. As a result, many have voiced their disgust and want Epic Games to change and revert to the old layout. In a Reddit post by u/ZachStokes, the user and many others expressed their disgust and disinterest with the new layout.
The new Fortnite layout allows easy access to the Discover tab and many creative maps. With recent layoffs at Epic Games on September 28, 2023, Tim Sweeney announced the future of Fortnite. In this email, he noted that Fortnite has always been primarily driven by creator content. As a result, the new layout change makes sense, as Epic Games may push this content.
However, although this is a strategic move for Epic Games, many players do not welcome this change. This has led players to comment the following in the Reddit post. “Fortnite: Every day looking more like Roblox” by the_hh, “Why does Fortnite need to look like an android tv…” by TheEmeraldMC. Finally, “I hate creative mode so much. It has no value besides earning xp and that’s it. Epic is investing so much on this but the benefits have been ZERO” by Sageman28.
Although many players do not like the new layout and want it to change, it has been four years since Epic has updated the lobby UI. As a result, this recent change will need to take some getting used to.
