Fortnite players have found a way to trick Epic Games into giving them free items

Epic Games released a content update for Fortnite on Wednesday, adding two new items to the game. Despite this being a smaller update, many players have enjoyed it so far. Additionally, some players have found a way to trick Epic Games into giving them free items.
The newest item is called Shield Breaker EMP. Besides dealing damage to shields, it can also disable electrical equipment, including cameras, turrets, and vending machines. It turns out that the item can be to obtain free gold and purchase many items and services for it.

You can get free gold in Fortnite thanks to Shield Breaker EMP
Shield Breaker EMP is relatively common as it can be found in chests and heist bags. The item can be used to briefly disable vending machines, but also to get gold from them. Instead of spending gold at this machine, you can now take gold back from it.
Reddit user RokuMogura posted a short video showing how this trick works. To perform it, you simply need to throw a Shield Breaker EMP grenade at a vending machine. Once you do this, the machine will drop gold, which you can see in the video below.
The best part is that the EMP grenade disables vending machines for only five seconds. This means that you can perform the Fortnite trick all over again, as long as you have enough grenades in your inventory.
Once you have acquired enough gold, you can use it to obtain various items and services from NPCs. Some of the best weapons in the game, like Shadow Tracker and Heisted Accelerant Shotgun, require gold to obtain. Additionally, you may also spend your free gold on other items from vending machines.
While this is not a game-breaking glitch, we expect Epic Games to fix it soon. In the meantime, feel free to use it to obtain free items and win extra games!
