Update September 02, 2021 at 16:56 BST:

Epic Games have announced on Twitter that they are offering refunds on Gamora’s Godslayer Pickaxe after a change made to it in Fortnite v17.50. It won’t cost a return ticket, so if you want to get rid of it in the next 30 days then there’s no penalty for that.

Fortnite: Battle Royale’s alien themed Chapter 2: Season 7 continues to impress, with new weapons, gameplay systems and narrative related map changes arriving almost every week to keep us interested in playing the mega-hit shooter.

It wouldn’t be a recent Fortnite season without a steady schedule of cross-promotions and collaborations with influencers, celebrities and the biggest pop culture brands of past, present and future and this season is no exception.

Not content with releasing an update that let players unlock DC Comics’ Superman from August 12 onwards, the studio, publisher and ‘digital storefront that bothers people that really want everything to just be on Steam’ juggernaut Epic Games have recently done another collaboration with DC’s direct rival Marvel.

Fortnite’s latest collaboration with Marvel has brought Zen-Whoberian assassin Gamora and her Godslayer sword from the Guardians of the Galaxy to the island, which definitely fits with the space alien theme. Like a lot of swords in the game, the Godslayer goes into the same harvesting tool slot as a pickaxe. She’ll join her friends Star Lord, Rocket Raccoon and Groot in the game, which means we’re now only waiting on Drax and Mantis to complete the team.

Fortnite’s version of Gamora is based on her appearance from writer Brian Michael Bendis’ run of Guardians of the Galaxy comics, which was designed by superstar artist Steve McNiven. This is often the design that video games and other animated adaptations choose to go for, as it looks a bit Mass Effect.

The alien assassin costs 1,500 V-Bucks and comes with a cape back bling. As we mentioned earlier, her set also contains the much sought after Godslayer Pickaxe, so keep an eye out for her in Fortnite’s item shop if you wanna grab that too.
