The Livestream that was earmarked to show off the new Genshin Impact 2.7 update has been pushed back by the developers of the game MiHoYo. The company initially announced the delay through comments on a Facebook post, before making a full post to explain the delay to fans in more detail after fans questioned the visibility of the original announcement.

Genshin Impact 2.7 Delayed

As with previous updates, fans were expecting the Genshin Impact 2.7 live stream program to launch a week or two before the update went live. Despite this, MiHoYo never technically announced the date of the event, with fans speculating the date of 28th/29th of April based on the previous update reveals. It seems that the company wanted at least a handful of people to know about the delay to the live stream, even if the way they announced it didn’t have the biggest outreach.

Fortunately for MiHoYo, dedicated fans have been spreading the news to the four corners of the internet to ensure that no one is left behind. Since the initial comment on an unrelated Facebook post, more official posts have appeared on the official Facebook page and the official Twitter account.

Genshin Impact 2.7 Release Date

Thanks to the delay of the live stream, we have no idea when the new Genshin Impact 2.7 update will actually release. Typically updates are further coming a few weeks after the live stream that gives fans fresh details on the new content and other changes. Since Mihoyo hasn’t made it clear how long we’ll have to wait for the stream, we’re left guessing about when the actual update content will arrive as well.

The biggest contributing factor to the delay is likely to be related to the ongoing quarantine in Shanghai. MiHoYo is based out of the city that has been fully locked down since the start of April, and with citizens struggling to get food and water, it’s not much of a shock that the delay happened in the end. Many fans have expressed their support for the company during the ongoing situation, with many saying that they hope that all of the developers are staying safe.

Genshin Impact 2.7 Banner Alleged Leak

If you are a fan who is trying to cope with the delay, then you might want to check out the alleged Genshin Impact 2.7 banner leak that happened a few days ago. If you’re not aware already, MiHiYo releases a banner alongside each update to show you what round of characters and weapons will have a turn in the spotlight with each new change to the game.

Well-known Genshin leaker ‘Uncle Y’ has revealed which characters will feature on the Genshin Impact 2.7 banner, with the leak making its way to Reddit. If the leak proves to be accurate, which has a good chance considering the sauce, this will mark the third outing in the banner for Xiao, with his second appearance only a few months ago.

The leak alleges that Xiao and Yelen will be the available characters in the first half of the update, with Aqua Simulacra bow and the Primordial Jade Winged Spear taking the slots for weapons. In the second half of the update, the character will be Itto, with the Redhorn Stonethresher and Memory of Dust as the available equipment.
