Travelers, rejoice! A number of leaks have just been unearthed showcasing details of the game’s new Sumeru characters. All this comes ahead of their official debut, sparking even more excitement surrounding the game’s latest Sumeru region update.

The upcoming Genshin Impact region update sees players embark on a new adventure, set in the desert-themed region of Sumeru. The update will also see the arrival of a bunch of new characters and will also introduce the game’s first Dendro unit..

Most of the Sumeru region leaks we’ve seen so far have referenced the locations that will be introduced – until now, we haven’t heard anything about the character that will be joining the ever-growing roster.

Genshin Impact Sumeru potential release date

At the time of writing this, there is no official Genshin Impact Sumeru release date. That being said, we expect the latest Sumeru update to fall around the same time as the Genshin Impact 3.0 update – expected around the 24th of August. While that is still some time away yet, fans of the game have a bunch of other arrivals to get excited about in the meantime.

Collei

Collei was first introduced in the official Genshin Impact Manga, however, since then, we haven’t seen her since. The latest leaks of Collei depict her sporting a green shawl over a black dress accompanied by a brown satchel.

Unlike other characters in the game, Collei wasn’t graced at birth with special abilities. Instead, her special power comes in the shape of allowing her to summon powerful magical abilities.

Cyno

We first got a glimpse of Cyno back in the Teyvat Chapter storyline preview – which also displayed a number of other upcoming characters too. Official HoYoverse artwork for the Cyno character has recently be released, cementing Cyno’s place in the game’s roster.

Cyno will be a Sumeru academic who wields a large polearm and sports a relatively fashionable headpiece. Alongside this, we can see the character’s long flowing cloak which features blue tassels with gold accents – very much in keeping with an Egyptian theme.

Kusanali

Kusanali is a Dendro Archo, the youngest of seven, and better known as the Flower Archon. According to reports, Kusanali’s clothing will be similar to that of Paimon’s – featuring a white and grey barnet to boot.

Despite not known a great deal about her Elemental skill and burst, there are reference images floating around that do offer up some indication as to how she’ll look.

Nilou

Nilou is one of the looser rumours currently circulating right now. She’s said to be a Hydro girl who is infamous for her intricate dances and healing abilities. This new support character is said to have horns that bear resemblance to Azhdaha’s – one of the game’s ancient earth dragons.

Tighnari

One of the latest leaks surrounding the Tighnari character suggest that he could have a short male model that features a fluffy tail. The character could wield a bow and use the Dendro element to eliminate his opponents.

Tighnari could also arrive with dark and short hair with two lime green stripes in his bangs – characteristic of his botanist knowledge.

Scaramouche

Scaramouche is easily one of the most anticipated character releases right now, said to command an Electro vision which is symbolized by his purple-on-black attire. Early artwork released by HoYoverse also showcases the character wearing an emblem around his chest – characteristic of the Electro symbol.

After his first appearance back in the Genshin Impact 1.1 update, players have been patiently waiting for the character’s big arrival. Unfortunately, there is still no official release date for the character, but it can only be a matter of time now.
