If you want to know the latest on when the Huawei Mate X3 will release, read below for the current Huawei Mate X3 release date based on the latest rumors and official info!

*UPDATE* The Huawei Mate X3 has now released in UK and Europe.

As the name suggests, Huawei Mate X3 isn’t the first device in the Mate X series. The company launched the first Mate X device a few years back, which was the first foldable smartphone from the company. The Mate X’s unique, breathtaking design turned quite a few heads. Unlike other foldable devices on the market, Mate X folds outwards, resulting in a front and rear display when folded. The Huawei device experience is also quite unique compared to other Android phones, thanks to the HarmonyOS.

After the Mate X, Huawei followed up the series with three more devices; Huawei Mate Xs, X2, and Huawei Mate Xs 2. And now, the company is speculated to release a new foldable smartphone in the upcoming weeks, Huawei Mate X3.

Huawei Mate X3 release date history

Huawei doesn’t stick to any specific day of the week or month to release the Mate X series devices. That said, the company’s launch history shows a pattern of a particular release window between the first and second quarters. It doesn’t seem however that the Huawei Mate X3 release date will follow this pattern, if the latest leaks and rumors are true.

  • Huawei Mate X release date: June 2019
  • Huawei Mate Xs release date: March 05, 2020
  • Huawei Mate X2 release date: February 25, 2021
  • Huawei Mate Xs 2 release date: April 28, 2022

*OLD RUMORED SPECS*

Again, according to Wangzai Knows Everything on their Weibo post, Huawei might change a few things for its next-generation foldable smartphone. The Mate X3 will likely have a Samsung Galaxy Fold-like design with a front display and back panel to protect its main display. It is a significant departure from the design of the Mate X and Mate X2. But it looks like Huawei is moving in a new direction with the Mate X3. However, Huawei didn’t officially confirm anything.

Why do Huawei devices not have Google?

Ideally, Huawei should have access to Google and its services. Android is an open-sourced operating system, which is available in the public domain on the web and accessible to everyone for free.

Unfortunately for the company, the US government placed a ban on it, due to its ties with the Chinese state and fears of data espionage by the latter, which forced the company to stop using Google’s mobile service. Many users expected to get Google services officially back on Huawei devices during 2022. Sadly, it seems unlikely, even now well in to 2023.

Is it okay to buy a Huawei phone?

After Huawei got banned by the US government, there were a lot of rumors surrounding Huawei devices stating they are less secure than other Chinese devices.

There is no evidence of such security lapse on Huawei devices as such, however the use of the data by the Chinese state is still a potential issue. Ultimately whether or not this bothers you will depend on your personal political views (or those of the country you live in).
